Leadership Message

Dear ICA Family,

On behalf of Indians for Collective Action (ICA), it is with great pleasure that we invite you to our Annual Gala Event. Your unwavering support is the very foundation of our success, and we are thrilled to come together to celebrate our shared impact.

This year, our gala will explore the profound theme of "Water for Life, Hope for Communities," highlighting our commitment to creating sustainable solutions for those most in need. We believe access to clean water is a fundamental human right and a powerful catalyst for change.

We are deeply honored to have Mittal Patel as our guest of honor. As a celebrated Nari Shakti Puraskar recipient and a true grassroots changemaker, Mittal will inspire us with her remarkable journey and insights. The evening promises to be an unforgettable experience, complete with a delectable dinner from Amber and enthralling entertainment.

Please join us as we gather to renew our resolve and celebrate the spirit of collective action.

ICA Supported NGO Spotlight

Vidya School

Indians for Collective Actions (ICA) proudly partners with Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch (VSSM), a grassroots organization tackling one of India's most profound social challenges: the exclusion of Nomadic and De-notified Tribes (NT-DNTs).The Question That Started a Movement: VSSM was born from a powerful moment of reflection in 2005: Where did these historically visible communities go? The answer revealed a disturbing reality of systemic exclusion, prejudice, and a life devoid of basic rights for millions. This search for answers quickly turned into a movement for change. VSSM's mission is clear: to restore the dignity, identity, and rights of NT-DNT communities. They use a powerful, dual-track strategy to achieve lasting change:

  1. Grassroots Intervention: Providing direct, tangible support to families by ensuring access to education, healthcare, housing, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
  2. Public Advocacy: Working directly with policymakers and civil society to shatter harmful stereotypes and push for inclusive government policies that formally recognize and support these tribes.

VSSM isn't just delivering aid; they are rewriting the future for communities who have been overlooked for generations. You can hear the remarkable story and learn about the latest contributions of VSSM directly from their inspiring Trustee, Mittal Patel, our honoree at the upcoming ICA Annual Gala 2025.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with the people making real change on the ground.

Secure your place at the ICA Annual Gala on October 5th, 2025, and be part of the solution!

Youth Highlight

Youth LEAD Students Return from Inspiring India Trip. We are delighted to share that our group of enthusiastic high school and college students, along with their chaperones, has just returned from a memorable two-week international trip to Anandwan and Hemalkasa, India.

This journey was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a deep cultural immersion that brought together our students, the Hemalkasa students, and the local community. Through shared learning, service, and exchange, bonds were formed and perspectives were broadened.

We are excited to feature photos from the trip on the ICA website, offering a glimpse into the impact this journey had on both our students and the communities they visited. We warmly invite you to join us at the ICA Gala on October 5th, 2025, where you can learn more about this year's trip and hear exciting details about next year's program.

ICA FORUM Recap: Making Education Enjoyable

Vidya School

Last month, Indians for Collective Actions (ICA) and IIT Kanpur co-hosted a "Meet and Greet" featuring Rahul Pandey (Founder of CLE TRUST and IIT Kanpur Alumnus) and Namita Maunder (SELPA Coordinator, CA).

Rahul shared the success of CLE TRUST's creative methods, which use experimentation and critical thinking to make learning engaging for children. Namita added a global perspective, drawing parallels from her work with students with disabilities in California schools.

It was an inspiring look at how creative, joyful learning can be a powerful tool for empowerment.
