Our celebration of spring this year begins with the celebration of youth. ICA was started in 1968 by youth in Berkeley who wanted to take a leadership role in making the world a better place. It was an opportunity to contribute to others, especially in India, the country of their origin. That spirit of giving and selfless service, and new ideas and innovation lives on at ICA, as we nurture youth leaders of tomorrow.
This is the third year of the ICA Youth Lead Program, where youth spend time with a leading service organization in India. After Snehalaya in 2022 and Lok Biradari Prakalp in 2023, it will be the Borderless World Foundation (BWF) in Kashmir. Please read about this year's Youth program featured in this Newsletter.
It will be an unforgettable life transforming journey. I spent a year in 1978-1979 working in villages of India, and it had a profound impact on me. It is a real opportunity for growth and learning leadership skills from Adhik Kadam at BWF.
As you may know ICA has been recognizing social leaders at our Annual Events for 30 years, now we ICA nurturing youth leaders of tomorrow. With your help, we will continue the journey and expand the youth programs to include longer time of service. Together we can!

New Member at Large
From a young age, I was instilled with the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. Joining the incredible work of Indians for collective Actions (ICA) feels like a natural extension of my core beliefs and values. They have tirelessly supported organizations in India that provide lesser privileged communities with the opportunity to thrive, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to empowerment and sustainable development. Thrilled to be part of the ICA committee and am eager to contribute to their impactful initiatives.
Since 2002, the Borderless World Foundation (BWF) has brought hope and healing to the people of Kashmir, particularly those impacted by violence and conflict. Founded by Adhik Kadam and Bharati Mamani, BWF's mission extends beyond immediate aid. They foster peace and empower communities for lasting change.
BWF's Impact:
Years of experience have shown BWF that true development requires collaboration. They prioritize empowering local communities to be active participants in shaping their future. This year, the Indians for Collective Actions (ICA) Youth Lead Program will partner with BWF.
