Mission:

ICA's mission is to support sustainable development in India by partnering with dedicated non-goverment organizations (NGO's) and individuals

 

 

 

Goals

    Structure

    ICA is comprised of volunteer members from the SF bay area who form the Executive committee. A President who serves a one-year term, and is eligible for a total of two consecutive terms, and is elected by the Committee heads it.

    Project Selection& Monitoring Committee is composed of Exec.Comm. members and other volunteers and acts to advise the Executive committee about development trends relevant to ICA’s mission & goals; about priority development concerns and help guide the funding of selected projects. Meetings are held every quarter

i) Projects Committee:  
Tasks - Review and approve projects for ICA support, recommend project funding, assign project champions and monitor and report on progress of projects. 
   
ii) PR Committee
Tasks - Website updates, Annual Report, Newsletters, PR, ICA presentation and messages, donor communication

iii) Fund-raising Committee: 
Tasks - Public events/programs, Fund raising and Award dinners, Talks by Activists, Donor events, fund raising mailing/appeals

iv) Finance and Administration Committee: 
Tasks - Keep accounts and do annual IRS filings, acknowledge donations via receipts/thank you's, maintain databases and e-mail lists, keep ICA current with Secretary of State, maintain correspondence and records, mailings and phone call follow-up 

v) Alliance and Partnerships Committee:
  
Tasks - Maintain communication with other development groups, develop jointly supported programs, and improve communication and cooperation with other groups.

2. ICA nurtures and funds social entrepreneurs, here in US and in India

 

ICA activists here returned to transform India, SR Hiremath, Ravi Chopra, Sandeep Pandey, Srikanth Nadhamuni, Raju Rajagopal

 

New social entrepreneurs are being nurtured Bala Viswanath - United Properity, Kohl Gill - Labor Voices, Dr. Aparna Hegde - HERO, Dr. Jerina Kapoor - Pallium

Our Affiliates

 

During the last few decades, ICA has nurtured and part ne red with many organizations in different ways, including the initial founding. New initiatives, such as Asha for Education and Foundation for Excellence started as entities within ICA, and later burgeoned out as independent non-profits.

Asha for Education
Asha was founded in 1991 as an entity within ICA with the goal of providing basic education to underprivileged children in India. read more

Foundation for Excellence (FFE) 
FFE was set up in 1994 by Dr. Prabhakar Goel as an entity within ICA to enable meaningful transformation in the lives of bright but financially constrained students in India .read more

InSPIRE 
ICA announced the successful launching of its pilot youth program during June-July 2008. Initiated in partnership with InSPIRE (India Summer Program Inspiring Reflective Exploration, website:www.SummerInIndia.org), the program aims at educating and engaging young generation of USA, mainly with South Asian roots, in community development and exposing them to Indian culture. read more

Rejuvenate India Movement
 
In 1999, ICA helped launch Rejuvenate India Movement (RIM), a network of organizations and individuals working together for India's development, with a goal to catalyze a mass movement to strengthen democratic processes toward self-reliant development. read more

American India Foundation
In 2001, ICA helped with the initial launch of AIF,  which is devoted to accelerating social and economic change in India.  read more

Seva
Seva was formed in 1991 by a group of Silicon Valley professionals to support organizations working for the underprivileged in rural India. read more
